Waiu Dairy
D2 Process are proud to have been associated with the Waiu Dairy Milk Powder project, a greenfield site development, in Kawerau, New Zealand.
Waiū Dairy is a partnership between eleven Māori entities; Te Manawa o Tūhoe, Māori Investments, Pūtauaki Trust, Ngati Makino, Rotoiti 15, Tataiwhetu Lands Trust, Tapuika Holdings Ltd, Rotoma No.1 Inc, Wharepi Whanau Trust, Omataroa Rangitaiki No.2 Trust and Poutama. Together these entities hold 66.66% shareholding, with the remaining 33.33% held by Cedenco Dairy, a subsidiary of 137 year old family owned Japanese business, Imanaka.
D2 Process were invloved in the project from its inception, and have provided a range of services and equipment to the project, including:
- Project management
- Design
- Process Equipment Supply
- Process Services (Air, Refrigeration, Electrical, Steam)
- Installation
Construction commenced late 2018 and the facility was commissioned in July 2019, producing Milk Protein Concentrate [MPC], Organic Milk Powders, Organic MPC, conventional & organic butter.
